Design for Educational Videos

USAID & Ukrposhta

About Client

Ukrposhta is the national postal service of Ukraine. It is a public company with 100% state ownership due to its strategic importance. In 1999–2015 it was a unitary enterprise of the government of Ukraine.

USAID is the United States Agency for International Development, responsible for providing aid and assistance to countries worldwide to promote development and address global challenges. It works in partnership with various organizations to improve living conditions, human rights, and economic opportunities in the recipient countries.

Project & Goals

The e-export School is a project by Ukrposhta, offering Ukrainian entrepreneurs valuable information on expanding their businesses globally and exporting their goods through platforms such as Etsy, Amazon, Shopify, and more.

My Role in the Team

I worked as an independent contractor within a dedicated project team. Alongside the creative director, we collaboratively developed the visual concept for educational videos, youtube thumbnails and checklists.

Moodboard

e-export school's brand voice is friendly, simple, and motivating, just like a successful friend who openly shares their achievements and secrets while encouraging your participation.

The brand's character is contemporary, vibrant, and fosters self-confidence, inspiring new opportunities with a touch of excitement. I wanted to visually express these qualities in the videos.

Process

The project took approximately six months and consisted several stages. I had an introductory discussion with the creative director to outline the project, its objectives, and the design brief. Following that, we had a call with the production team, during which I acquired key insights into creating graphics for the videos.

Following this, I began the process of developing the visual system for the videos. Once completed, I received feedback from the production team for any necessary adjustments.

In the final stages, the creative director was present on set to oversee the entire production process.

Concept

Colorful gradients, bold typography, and minimalistic frames and icons served as the primary visual elements for the design of these educational videos.

Video Graphics

I designed video graphics that played a supporting role in delivering the narrator's information. These graphics included text blocks, bullet points, photos, screenshots etc.

To ensure that the frames did not distract from the video host's presence, I went for a semi-transparent style. I had small colorful details which helped to direct attention where it’s needed.

Typography

I selected the bold Druk font for the headers and the sans-serif Open Sans font for the body text. This choice ensured a legible text with great contrast between the headers and the body content.
