Design & Illustration for Wedding Events

About Client

Logan Landing is a luxurious private stay in Netherlands which was beloved by people and was recognised as best bed & breakfast of Netherlands in 2022. They also do weddings and event’s on theirs 1.7 hectare territory.

Project & Goals

The client approached me with a request to create an aesthetically captivating presentation, showcasing watercolor illustrations of their venue, Logan Landing. This presentation aimed to illustrate the potential for couples considering it as their wedding destination.

The goal was to create an engaging and informative presentation that effectively met these objectives:

Expectation’s management: distract people’s attention from the house and show that it’s actually garden wedding.
Communicating the value and pricing of the venue to potential couples.
Highlight the range of choices and possibilities the venue offers for wedding events.
Filter out couples who want to visit Logan Landing before deciding if they want to even commit to this location. Give more information prior to meeting.
Create emotional connection with the location before wedding for a bride. And show all the numbers and important information for a groom.

My Role in the Team

Once it’s a small family business I was working directly with founders of Logan Landing as an independent graphic designer and illustrator. Combination of both my expertises helped me to find perfect solution for theirs problems.

Solution

Initially, the request was for an aerial view illustration of Logan Landing to encompass the entire property. However, during the process, I suggested creating a bifold folder to provide a more detailed portrayal of Logan Landing's location with key text information.

Moodboard

The client provided me with a single reference that served as the foundation for my further research. Other references helped me to define which font style is preferable, desired amount of white space, which perspective and color scheme will work the best for illustration.

Sketches

Firstly I had to study Logan Landing’s location, so I would place all key spots properly in bird view location perspective with 180’ perspective of the objects.

The bird's-eye view sketch was highly effective in sharing the necessary information, leading us to keep it.

I suggested transforming it into a bifold folder, rather than a simple A3 paper, which would serve as a useful tool for clients. This folder not only contained essential location details but also offered practical functionality, allowing clients to store wedding-related documents. Additionally, I included a cover page with space for the names of the bride and groom, and on the back, we decided to include the venue's address.

Final Result

Cover: Featuring the Logan Landing logo, the names of the bride and groom, the wedding date, and the venue's address.
Back: Clear directions to the venue's location.
Inside: On the left side, a bird's-eye view illustration is presented with dedicated space for notes. Each spot is labeled with a corresponding number, along with visual explanations of the spots and their seating capacity for convenience and clarity.

Client’s Feedback

‘‘Immediately Ksena was able to put to paper what we needed for our clients. She understood exactly what our mission was and even visited the location to get the exact look and feel. Her illustration was beautiful, romantic colours and drawings match perfectly with the wedding venue and is extremely appealing to our clients (wedding couples).

When presented to our clients the “wow” effect is clear but more importantly visually very tangible for them so that when they take it home with them they can clearly visualize the venue. In the case of clients not physically visiting the location we mail them the illustration which is often the convincing factor for planning a venue visit.
